One morning I read these words..."Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." This is what I pondered. "Too many times I get up from my quiet time with the Lord and stumble into a fierce and troubled world. Instead of feeling the gentle yoke of Jesus on my neck, I get bound up by the barbed wire of worry and anxiety all around me. It twists and pricks into my confidence, ripping away the 'gentle and humble' mind He has chosen for me. Satan in his sly, deceptive way uses the painful barbs to open up the nagging world of "what if" and the blacker side of the "unknown". I must be disciplined to follow Jesus and take on His yoke. I drew a little sketch in my book to remind myself of what I was learning and later painted it as my third choice entry for the Salon. I am hoping this image will stay in your mind, if you are struggling with "Fear and Anxiety"
